Welcome the BMENA Bioethics Forum

This project is dedicated to implementing a comprehensive responsible conduct of science and a mentoring program for young and early career scientists from the Broader Middle East and North African (BMENA) Region.

The ultimate goal of the project is to:

  • Provide tools that will enable young and early career scientists from the BMENA Region to engage in international collaboration.
  • Contribute to the ethical, safe and secure conduct of bioscience in the Broader Middle East and North Africa (BMENA) region by scientists both within and outside of the region
  • Ensure that bioscience research conducted in the region contributes to the health and well-being of society.

The project is designed to:

Implement a comprehensive mentorship program for young and early career scientists in the BMENA region.

Provide a mechanism for capacity building in responsible science in regional universities, in order to foster future collaborative research.

Develop training and educational modules on various aspects of responsible conduct of science (e.g. biorisk management, ethical treatment of research subjects, research misconduct, data management, authorship, laboratory management, mentorship, etc.)

Provide a forum for scientists from the region to participate in online training and to engage in discussion forums on subjects related to the responsible conduct of science with their peers.

Enhance the existing methodologies for a comprehensive mentoring programs.
